1st Team Home V Llandaff

  Pentyrch RFC v Llandaff RFC – 25 March 2017

Pentyrch hosted fellow strugglers Llandaff RFC, with both teams desperately looking for a win. Although a dry day, the strong wind resulted in several handling errors being made by both teams, resulting in a fairly scrappy game. Pentyrch had most of the possession in the first half and dominated the territory stats, but only lead 3-0 at the interval, through a penalty goal by Tomos James.

The hosts continued to dominate the game for the first 20 minutes of the second half. An early try by Tom James, converted by himself and a try by left wing Dylan Palmer gave Pentyrch a comfortable 15-0 lead. For some unknown reason the hosts then went to sleep and allowed Llandaff back into the game, when they scored two tries, one converted, to make the final score 15-12. A much needed and deserved win for Pentyrch.

The Youth XV went on a short tour to Exeter, where they played Newton Abbott and comfortably won 31-77.

Next Saturday, 1st April, the 1st XV entertain another struggling team in Treherbert RFC. Kick off is at 2:30pm. The Youth don’t have a fixture.
