Pentyrch Ladies U14 32 Newport Ladies U14 17

Sunday 25 November 2007

In their first ever game, the Pentyrch U14 Ladies played Newport U14 Ladies on Sunday, and came away with an extremely well deserved victory. The game, which was played at Pentyrch, was very well contested by both sides.

No player should be singled out for this particular game as it was the first competitive game for many of the girls and every one gave a hundred and ten percent and all played extremely well. Pentyrch tried to run the ball on every occasion and some great team work led to 6 tries for the home team. Newport, who also wanted to run the ball whenever they could also did extremely well but some great tackling from the Pentyrch girls kept the visitors try count to 3 tries which secured a great victory.

Training will continue on a Wednesday evening from 7.15 to 8.15 for the rest of the year although this may be altered in the new year to include a few Sunday sessions.

Hopefully further games will be arranged in the new year which will certainly include a return fixture against Newport.
